There’s something so special about a wedding that embraces its surroundings instead of trying to transform them. For Mr. and Mrs. Grantham’s Galveston wedding at The Menard House, the historic property became the perfect backdrop for an intimate outdoor celebration. Rather than adding a tent, they leaned into the beauty of the venue with open-air dining, long farmhouse tables, and blue and white florals that felt soft, elegant, and effortlessly inviting.

Designing Florals That Feel Personal for a Galveston Wedding

One of my favorite details from this wedding was the bride’s bouquet. Since the bride loves tulips, we made sure to include them alongside garden roses, hydrangeas, stock, and soft blue delphinium. The result was a bouquet that felt classic while still reflecting her personality. We carried that same blue and white color palette throughout the ceremony and reception, creating a cohesive look from the aisle arrangements to the reception centerpieces. Repeating flowers and colors throughout the day is one of the easiest ways to make every space feel connected.

Creating an Intimate Outdoor Reception

Instead of traditional round tables or a large tent, the couple chose long rectangular tables set beneath the oak trees. It immediately created a warm, welcoming atmosphere where guests could gather together and enjoy the evening.

To complement the setting, we designed lush garden-style centerpieces filled with white blooms, soft blue accents, and fresh greenery. Paired with patterned blue linens, woven chairs, and small table lamps, the reception felt elevated without losing the relaxed charm of an outdoor wedding. It’s proof that sometimes the most beautiful wedding designs come from letting the venue—and the florals—shine.
